What:
1500m and 3000m open water swim events held at Bray Watersports.
750m lap
Choose from one of two distances over two dates.
The treading-water mass start will set you off in a simple rectangular route around four buoys. Those doing 3000m will complete 4 laps of the 750m course. Those doing 1500m will complete 2 laps of the 750m course.

This is a great venue with patio, jetty, open-decked viewing platform and fully equipped restaurant and bar.

Other information
On the day
Race starts 09:00
At registration collect your swim cap and mark your hands with race number (issued on the day).
Practice swimming: You can attend swim training sessions with Bray Lake Swimming. The open swim session allows you to swim the marked out 1000m route with the comfort of safety crew at hand.
Baggage:
There are changing rooms and shower facilities for swimmers. Either leave bags in the car or leave them with us at registration.
Alternatively, arrive with your swimmers on so all you have to do is pull on your wetsuit.
What to wear
Wetsuits are not compulsory but they do help keep you warm and buoyant, allowing you to swim faster. You can hire one from 2XU. Swim caps are compulsory and will be provided.
Course
Start: Treading water start.
Each 750m lap follows a rectangular course around four buoys.
Finish: Run through the gantry.
First Aid
St John's will be in attendance as land based medical support.
Kayaks, safety boat and crews will be provided by Bray Lake. All crews are qualified first aiders and well versed in open water swim safety and rescue.
Water
Having swum in the water this morning, I can safely say the water is warm! A precise reading will be provided on the day.
Refreshments
There is an on-site cafe and we'll provide bananas and water.
Don't forget
Your wetsuit if you own one.
Your goggles if you own them.
